The following is a description of the house Mr. and Mrs. Hutcheson of Boydton Va. have lived in for 27 years. Mrs. Hutcheson wrote; A CD of 126 pictures of this house and property, without charge, is available. Please call 434-374-xxxx This house and 35 acres of land is located 5 miles from John H. Kerr/Buggs Island Lake near Clarksville, VA where A NEW WORLD RECORD was set June 8, xxxx for the largest Blue Catfish ever caught; weighing in at 143 lbs. The lake is widely known for the best fishing anywhere, with large-mouth bass, striped bass, crappie and flathead catfish available in abundance. Fishingt Tournaments are held several times a year. A boat ramp is less than 1 mile from this property and allows for easy water acess. Clarksville is a quaint little town right on the lake with friendly people and fun activities year round. Clarksville Lake Fest, held once a year in the summer, draws folks from all over US. Many fall in love with the area and subsequently decide to make this their permanent home. This property is located 1 hr. 20 min. from Raleigh, NC going south, and 1 hr. 45 min. from Richmond, VA heading north. In xxxx, we were pleased to purchase the old heart pine to be used in the interior of our home from the flooring of the old Farmer?s Warehouse in Clarksville, VA- built in xxxx. This house was designed by the owner and is one of a kind, custom built. The construction of this house was by Bill Bolick, White?s Building Supply, Keysville, VA. House was completed in xxxx. It is built with 2 X 6 studding and 6? insulation; trusses are 2 X 6. The premium vinyl siding was masterfully installed in xxxx. The premium shingled roof is a little over 2 years old. A new heat pump, outside/inside unit, was installed in April xxxx for the 2nd floor. It has a 10 yr. warranty. All windows and window screens are by Anderson. The 360 degree eight-sided balcony on the second floor of the house is open to the great room below; the banisters and staircase are crafted of heart pine and were made by Sammy Thompson, The Cabinet Maker, Halifax, VA. Sammy also crafted the heart pine tongue and groove flooring located throughout the main floor of the house. The 4? chair railing, unique in design, was crafted by Sammy and is featured in every room of the house. All base-boards are made from single heart pine boards, 8? wide. Heart pine crown molding is in all rooms. The custom made heart pine fire place mantle in the great room is a handcrafted antique copy. More than 25, 000 brick make up the interior chimney from basement through roof. There are 3 separate flues in the chimney. There are 15, 8? deep, 4? wide, antique pine ceiling beams in the dining room. These beams along with two interior paneled doors came from the old Wagstaff Farm in Skipwith, VA. The doors now have hand-made leaded glass panels in the top half of each and are used as separate swinging doors leading from the great room into the kitchen. The front entrance antique door to the house came from a house on Main St. in Danville, VA. It is 2 ΒΌ ?deep and has solid brass hinges and door knobs. The back entrance antique door to the house came from a post office in rural Virginia; it has etched beveled glass and was purchased at auction over 30 years ago. The kitchen was a total remodel 4 years ago. It is state of the art with built-in stainless appliances and custom made cabinetry by Don?s Cabinet Shoppe in Danville, VA. Brazilian, Blue Louise marble is used on counter tops. The dining area has Italian hand-made tile flooring; each tile being one of a kind. There is a custom made, stain-glass window at one end of the dining room installed when the house was built. I can only attach 9 pictures, but more upon request, Plus some additional CD's with 142 pictures of our house and 34+ acher land. If interested- I can mail one out to you.
